psu giving me problems

Yesterday I put in a new cooler on my card, and when I installed it my PC would boot up with all the fans running, then shut off, then turn back on again, then shut off and it keeps doing that. I took put the gpu and it still did this, then realized the comp still did this. So I took off the 8 pin and it runs fine withput shutting off. Why is my 8-pin doing this? Everything was running fine yesterday.. please any help would be great.

Yeah, I was wondering what the heck happened to all the techs who are paid to give 24/7 support on these forums with a guaranteed 1 hour response time.

Oh, I know what your problem is. You forgot to sign up for that service. There is a recurring $150 annual subscription fee and a per-instance fee of $80. Go to http://forums.anandtech.com/su...ptions.aspx?member=new to sign up. Hmmm, strange, but that page seems to be down. Perhaps there's a database glitch or something?

What is your complete specs of your build??
What 8 pin connector are you talking about? GPU? CPU power??
My first thought was that your CPU HSF isn't seated correctly and the CPU is thermally ramping and then it would shut down, but then you mention the 8 pin ?? and that seems to fix it.

Funny how you don't get a response for 6 hours, but your get 4 responses in 4 days or so. But you don't even respond to anyones questions. I guess if you don't respond that means that you figured it out on your own, or you don't really need the help??
