PSU - getting warm

and i dont wanna boot into bios yet , this test has my 3d card upto 77 which ive never seen it go so high and psu is starting to warm up i wanna see if it turns it self off or if the fan kicks up faster but either way its starting to get warm to the touch.

Hmmm, Amps look very good actually, but then again, we weren't talking about a PSU that powered down your system under load or so... 😀

Probably just the fact that it has a single 120mm fan, and so becomes a bit hot... I wouldn't worry too much...

well i found it odd that when i had the cpu / ram test going the psu was totaly fine its now that ive cranked up the 3d card that its starting to get hot, maybe its pulling to much power?

When putting your CPU and GPU under load, there is of course a lot of power drawn... And of course your PSU gets hot under those circumstances, but as long as you don't have any instability issues or powerdowns, it seems like the PSU is up to its task...

it actualt shut down coz it was to hot , but i think thats coz it was a 46c day

i got the high temp test running in prime 95 and all max in real-time hrd IBL and my gpu is 77 withm y air con jsut turned on.. isnt that abit high? cpu is 49 and system is 38.. it might go down abit as the room cools but 77 seems pretty high. I guess i am running 2 programs that basicly force heat , games wont do this much.

RTHDRIBL is more intensive than games... No, the 77°C isn't too high, that's actually a rather good temp, seeing that your system temp is 38°C... The CPU is fine too... :thumbsup:

i have to admit i like the shark case and this asus board , everything is so spread out and lots of air thru it , parts dont heat each other up..

all i need now is to buy a basic sound card like audigy 2zs to take the load off my cpu as i play fear / wow and listening to music and get abit better quality too.. not gonna go the x-fi music coz my headphones r only the zalman 5 channel ones.

ha i quit the stress tests and temps drop to 36c cpu , 35c system , 46c gpu and cpu / gpu r overclocked

Hate to say it to you, but the use of an external sound card is unfortunately not going to give you much of an advantage in games... I tried it too, disabling onboard sound and installing a SB Live, but the frame rate was still the same...

you'd be better off investing in a $20 dmm so you can get accurate voltage readings 😉
