Hi,

My 8800GTX has just fried (video ram) so I'm looking at getting a GTX 260 216.

My system is as follows:

EVGA 680i
E6600
4GB PC2-8500
2x HDD
2x Optical

Power supply: Tagan TG580-U15 580W supply, 35A available combined.

It used to run my 8800GTX fine but is this too much for it with the new card? I keep seeing 36-40A requirement. Will this be an issue - I really dont want to shell out on a new supply just because of this unexpected upgrade 🙁.

Help!

Adam

580 Watts is plenty. Before I upgraded to this for my 260 rig, similar in spec to yours, 2 HDD, 2 optical, X26000+ and 4 GB RAM, I was using an Antec TruePower 480 watt and it ran the setup stable for weeks on end, never a hiccup.
