Psu for hd5750

A friend of mine is thinking of buying a radeon hd5750. She's got a earthwatts 430 power supply. Would that be enough to power the video card? I know it has a pci-e connector for the card. Ati's recommended minimum is 450 watts, but would the 20 watt difference really matter?

depends on the rest of the system. a power supply powers the entire computer not just the video card. that being said if she has a fairly basic system then that power supply will be just fine with plenty of room to spare.

It should be fine. The EW430 is a good little PSU and will handle a single 5750 with ease.

This. Power Supplies Wattage is not a clear cut indication of a Power Supply's capability. Due to that, AMD/ATI's recommendation of "450 Watts" is based upon taking into consideration both good Quality power supplies as well as poor quality power supplies. Her's is a good quality Power Supply and will likely be able to handle even higher Recommendations above 450 even.

That's good to hear. The rest of the hardware is pretty basic. Dual core processor, micro atx motherboard, 4gb of ram.
