PSU for 6800GT

I'm looking to replace my stock PSU (generic that came with a dynapower case) because i'm going to be getting a 6800GT graphics card.

i was looking at this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817104934

i've had overheating problems in my case and i think it's mostly b/c of the generic PSU, i shouldn't have to replace the actual case should i? (i have 3 case fans and a panaflo on the heatsink)

thoughts, suggestions and anything else is appreciated

That 500W Fortron's a very good PSU with ample current on the 12V rails, and very good voltage regulation.

Yes, theoretically, having dual rails provide a degree of assurance with respect to voltage stability, as, for example, one rail can be used to power the graphics card(s), and the other the CPU, HDs, etc.

one more noob question, this PSU only has a fan on the top (the one i have now has one on the back) - do you have the fan face the top of the case or do you have it facing the heatsink?

You want to position the PSU with its single fan on the bottomside (facing the CPU heatsink).

Facing the heatsink (aka fan facing to the bottom of the case). That way it sucks air from the case, cooling itself along the way. If you place it otherway, it might be hard for the PSU to cool itself.
