PSU and cooling question on an XP2200+ system

Is the Thermalright SK-7 sufficient for an XP2200+ that is not overclocked? AMD doesn't list any Thermalrights on their site. It will be used on an Epox 8RDA+.

Also, should a Fortran 300w PSU be big enough? The system will have the XP2200+, 512 megs of PC2700 RAM, two 7200 rpm HDs, CDROM, CDRW, an ATI XPERT 2000 Pro video card, modem and SCSI card. I plan to use the firewire port and the onboard sound on the Epox 8RDA+.

1. It is...especially with a 80mm fan.

2. Depends on the model of Fortron but if you components draw 180W or less you're fine.

Macro2 - I have an 80m 29.7 cfm fan on the SK-7.

I can't get exact specs on the Fortron, but their other 300w PSs put out 175w, so the 180 max seems right.

JZilla - The 300w Fotron puts out 15A on the 12v line, so according to the FiringSquad article, that may be okay because I come up with 13.2A and all those devices aren't likely to be running at the same time.

2200+ = 6.55
Mobo = .3
3 fans = .75 total
2 HDs = 4 total
CD = .8
CDRW = .8

Does that seem right?

Yes, but the Dell 250W PSU has a peak power of 345W, according to the Dell Forum mods.

EDIT: But I really don't know much on psu's, just wanted to show you the FS article, as I think it is pretty good.
