GBA is better. When the price of the PSP drops and the game library is larger then perhaps it will be the best.

Its games are for kids? You, sir, are a moron. You are the kind of person who thinks that a game that doesn't involve gore or the ability to screw a prostitute and then kill her isn't really a good game, am I right? You understand that the point of a GAME is to have excellent GAMEPLAY, right?

It doesn't matter how many capabilities the PSP has since I included 'once the price drops'. You see, you have to pay for all of those features. Want to watch a lot of movies? Buy all of your movies again OR invest in a $100+ memory card on top of the $250 PSP price. Want to play a game? Be ready to shell out $50 just like you would for a normal console system game.

yes so?
Gaming is an expensive hobby...
its not for kids anymore...

ive already invested 400 bucks in just my PSP and accessories with another 300 in games...

thats not a big deal for the people this device is targeted at.. young professionals in the 25-35 year old range..

and no games dont have to be uber violent to attract me...

but they do have to not look or have chracters that remond me of games targeted at japanese children.. aka pokemon and final fantasy crap...

give me a good game like the new hotshots golf PSP (which is fun as hell) or Untold legends which is a fantastic rpg/slasher or twisted metall great fun shooter....

all the above games have network abilities and are fun to play with friends...

I also use my PSP to store 2 dvds at a time as well as store MP3s and pictures...

great device. billions of lightyears ahead of that crappy GBA.. or even the DS

Gaming is an expensive hobby? Gaming is about the games man and not about the graphics. $700 on a PSP? Rofl. I'll wait until any bugs are worked out and the game library is actually worth investing in.

best part yet, is you can war drive with it! When I walk my dog, I war drive (war walk i guess) with my PSP. Found at least a dozen unprotected networks, and 3 with only WEP enabled. No WPA.

Oh, and it games pretty well too ;)

yes gaming is a very expensive hobby... 1000-2000 bucks in PC parts every 2 years... whatever consoles and accessories come out every year...... unknown $$
50-70 (mutiplatform PC console handheld) must have games per year at 49.00 bucks a pop...
15.00+ a month for various subscriptions.... WoW, fileplanet. etc... XBL

Gaming can be pricey but it is worth it to some.

If I didn't commute I wouldn't get a PSP. Who plays a PSP when driving a car? I commute on the train so I have mind to keep me busy and kill sometime.

The GBA games don't interest me. It has some fun games that my little bro plays and probably some if I gave it a chance but I can't be assed. My PSP is going to rock when they sort themselves out and get bloody GT4m, SF game and a Tekken game :D!

Sounds good, I'm now planning on buying one. Since I already have a 1 gig MS duo pro, it would just be a matter of $250 for the system, plus games. Does anybody know about the possibility of cramming a game on a memory stick? I guess I'd probably need a 2 gig stick, but those are going to get cheaper eventually. And then if you could just download games for free and try before you buy, it would quickly pay for itself (how many times have I wasted $50+ on a game that got rave reviews only to hate it???)

I'm a dispatcher for a police department, and spend a lot of time sitting around reading or messing around online. There is lots of talk of us losing our internet access, so the PSP would be perfect for keeping me occupied. I agree with whoever said that for most people, portable gaming is not necessary.
