PSP transfer issue

I got a starter kit for my PSP and came with the USB cord and some program, however it's on mini-CD which my laptop can't play. I plugged in my PSP and simply started moving files over one at a time however on the 3rd file it stopped midway, I restarted the PSP and now it won't even transfer files period.

I'm running windows vista and have the 4.05 firmware on my PSP, this was an issue on a previous firmware however I ignored it since I didn't use it too much.

What specifically is happening ? How are you "transferring the files"? Simple drag and drop should work.

Is your memory stick full ? PSP is USB mode ? Is it even being recognized by the PC ?

Shouldn't be any tricks to it, and you shouldn't need any 3rd party programs.

It's a brand new memory card I got, dragging and dropping is what I'm doing.

PSP is in USB mode and is shown as just another drive when connected.

Bad USB cable?

I think I had that problem once before. I'm not sure if I ever got a new USB cable to fix the problem, but I did get a memory stick to USB adapter. I'd plug that into my computer, load files onto the memory stick via adapter, then plug it into my PSP. That fixed my problem.
