I just bought my son a PSP and the memory slot says "memory stick duo", is that the same (compatible) with memory stick pro duo?

Any good deals on these?

Thanks,

Tom

Heh.. Memory stick duo and pro duo are different but they will both work on the PSP. I think some games require a pro duo with magic gate compatible card for some of their features to work right. Pro duo is much faster. I don't know if there are good deals but I do know that Sony recently released a 16 GB pro duo w Magic Gate so the 8 and 4 Gb models must be cheaper now. Also be carefull when buying pro duo cards -- there are a lot of fakes being sold on ebay. Amazon.com doesn't even allow you to sell your pro duo to them because of the number of fakes that are going around. If you do buy from ebay avoid buying from Honk Kong/China..

As Sadaiyappan said, the PRO sticks are quite a bit faster.

I'm kind of a PSP junkie and have accumulated and tested quite a few sticks since I got my first fatty. Make sure you buy your stick retail. If he's just using this for games then a 512 meg stick is more than enough and you might as well plunk down the full price for a nice SONY branded stick if you're buying that small. When you get into the bigger sticks Sandisk is the best bang for the buck. Stay the hell away from Lexar even if the price looks nice. They are slow as shit.

As far as deals go, you may as well sign up for CAG and just sit back and watch. There's at least one memory deal a week.
