Hi Enyce,

I haven't tried movies yet, but I downgraded mine today and have been playing games on my 1GB memstick. I wish I spent a bit more to get 2GB though, these games are quite large. Only fit around 2 at one time.

UMDs will hold up to 1.8GB, but most games seem to use only ~20-30% of that. I dumped Wipeout Pure and it's ~250MB. There are rip-kits for most of the larger games, but I'd rather take the battery-life/convenience hit and play them off the UMD with all the content intact.

Keep in mind that most new games now require your PSP to be running firmware >= 2.0, and since you can't run an ISO loader under firmware > 1.5 (no way has been found to run unsigned apps in kernel-mode, yet) you can't run them off a stick.

Is GTA LCS the only game so far that requires firmware 2.0? Appears that v 2.0 loader for homebrew is already available and it should only be a matter of time before kernel mode is made accessible. Lot of speculation, but I think I'll stay with 1.5 for now to get the most out of things until the geniuses get loaders for v 2 +.

im sure the smart guys will get this solved soon, mmm out of couriosity any one has a white psp? it cost a bit more than the black ones but is mostly only from japan etc. i did read they have no regional incompatibility.... so would it be a waste of $ (considering there are skins sold for black etc)?

SOCOM requires 2.0 as well, IIRC.

If it's significantly more, yes. If it's only a few bucks extra and you'd like a white one (finger marks, etc. won't be as noticeable) then go for it.

Not sure about the cross-regional compatibility, but only UMD movies are region encoded ATM.
