PSP crew please help!

I connect my PSP to my computer, and put the PSP in USB mode. Windows just gives me an error saying the device is unrecognized. How do I get my PSP working on my computer? My friend says he doesn't have this issue at all.

Nothing in that thread helped? Are you plugging it into a front USB port? Some front USB ports aren't powerful enough to run external drives so you need to use one in the back of the case. I couldn't get my iPod working with my front ports and after some quick Googling, I found that I need to use the rear ports.

I plug it into the back. I don't use the front USB ports. I tried with both my PSP and my friends PSP. Same thing.

Have you tried another usb port or just restarting your pc? Otherwise remove the usb ports from devide manager and reboot your pc.

Thanks. I did try different USB ports but it doesn't work. ill try the device manager thing though.

i had this happen to me as well..it worked when i plugged it to a usb hub though...

not sure but it could be a usb 2.0 prob because my hub is usb 1.0 whereas the computer is usb 2.0

Try the cable on a different pc as well, to make sure that isn't the problem.

Yeah my computer is USB 2.0 I think I have a hub laying around somewhere.

I got mine working on my laptop, but not my desktop. I tried every USB port, multiple times, with reboots and downloaded mass storage drivers. No good.

Well, it's working now. I found an old 4 port USB 2.0 hub I had and it works when connected through there.

lol I found my hub but the power adapter is missing. I'll try to find it. How do I check the firmware?

Never had a problem when i had the PSP, it just shows up as a removable disk, no drivers needed
