I had a strange experience this past weekend, and it's made me curious.
Basically, I had bought and downloaded the game when it first came out, but never had gotten around to actually playing it. I ran out of room on my memory card some time ago, and had deleted it to make room.
So, this past weekend, I decided I wanted to play it, and went to the psn to redownload it...only for it to not show up...at all.
The ps3 version was there, but no vita version. I mean, it just did not exist. I did a google search, and was able to find the psn page for the game....but, the purchase button didn't work, like it wasn't for sale anymore. And, i couldn't download it either.
I also scrolled back through my download history, on the psn, and it took me to that same page, where I was unable to redownload it yet again.
Oh, the story does have a happy ending (if you count respending 40 dollars a happy ending?).
Gamestop did have the digital version for sale. So, I repurchased the digital code from them. Well, even after I did that, it was still a pain in the butt to get the game downloaded.....
When I entered the code, it did bring up the Totori game, but then the next page said the code had expired. heh, I was about to lose it at that point. But, then I googled it again to find the psn page for it, and this time it let me que up the download. So, I'm back to owning it.
So, I guess there were several options of what happened.
1. It is still for sale on the psn, but I just suck at doing a basic search.
2. it's a game stop exclusive, and they only let you download it once (any successive downloads make you repurchase it completely)
or
3. I managed to backdoor buy a game that's actually not up for sale anymore.
I'm guessing the answer to my question is number 1 there. But, can anyone confirm whats going on with this title?
In the middle of all the confusion, I figured the title might have gotten delisted, what with tecmo taking the license for the altelier games back from Nisa. But, since I was actually able to get it in the end (hoop jumping not withstanding), I'm not so sure anymore.
