see report here.... Intel to raise bus speed on I925X to 1066.
http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/chipsets/display/20040413081748.html
Its been a long time, I'm trying to re-understand the nature of the system bus, northbridge, southbridge, cpu bus, memory bus etc.....
ok now can someone remind me how all this translates?
533 FSB = quad pumped 133mhz = dual channel 533 mhz rdram
800 FSB = quad pupmed 200 mhz = dual channel 400 mhz ddr memory
1066 FSb = Quad pumped 233 mhz = dual channel 533 mhz ddr memory
What would it take to run the 667mhz dual channel ddr memory as suggested in the article?
----------
Now how does AMD hypertransport work?
I dont know much about hypertransport other than its different than hyperthreading.
