PSA: When sending a registered mail package

Don'tr bother to do any wrapping at home. The post office will:

make you remove all glossy packing tape
remove all applied labels
black out any text on the box
apply special brown paper tape that you must hand-apply glue to
brown paper must cover all seams and any markings on the box
then you must handwrite all addressing on box directly

And of course all this occurs AFTER you've waited 15 minutes in line and while dozens of people stare at you while you do all of the above at the work table in the middle of the post office.

That is all.

Well, you've got me there, but for $323 versus $19 for USPS Registered Mail, it might as well not exist.

UPS has a limit of $100 unless you opt for 3rd party insurance.

Third party? UPS no longer offers it? Used to be cheap per $100.00.

I haven't used it in years so I may be out of touch.
