PSA: To the gamers out there looking for the perfect PC game controller

do an ebay search for "n64 usb ps2"

for about 10$ shipped, you can get a complete plug and play usb adapter for your favorite n64 or playstation controller. I bought one a few years ago and it was the best money I ever spent on my computer. The N64 controller is GREAT for driving games. No drivers are needed and the adapter is bullet proof.

I'm sorry, but you have no idea what a good controller is. The N64 controller requires 3 hands just to operate it.

Nyko makes the very best controllers for the PC and all consoles, period. Once you go fanned, you never go back.

And their controller sticks to the Playstation design, with the analog sticks stupidly placed in the center. XBOX controller is the best.

dual shock is by far the greatest controller, and seeing as i only play emulators with mine then they Gravis i have is perfect, the N64 controller sucked

😕 The analog sticks are closer to the center on the xbox controller than on the playstation and PC controllers...

God do I hate the N64 controller. Never understood the hard-on for it and crappy-ass Goldeneye (I was prolly playing Quake TF with 23 other players at that time).

Anyway I like PS style controllers for emulators. I got a Saitek PC gamepad that's designed just like one. I also got a $2 adapter so I can use an Xbox controller which is king, but I don't own one yet, and may just get the 360 one, but I guess that requires XBCD as well, what happened to their built-in support??

What are you smoking? http://www.whitedog.co.uk/catalog/images/xbox_controller_s.jpg

Look where the left analog stick is, right where it should be. When the Playstation controller was designed, the analog sticks were secondary, but now almost every game uses the left one for direction. Why keep it in the middle?

My xbox controllers don't look like that, both sticks are in the center. I find this more comfortable than the stock controller you posted a picture of. In fact, I never use that controller.

My favorite PC controller is the Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2, which follows the PS2 design. I prefer the layout this way rather than the XBox layout. And the N64 was a sweet controller except for the fact that the analog stick went to crap so easily.

I bought a GameCube->USB adaptor, it never did work right... I like the Gamecube controler a bit more than the N64 controller, I didn't really like the C buttons on the N64. I like the controller Anubis linked, I have one of those for playing NES/SNES emulated games.

I looked around, considered my options and went with the logitech cordless rumblepad, of course, the xbox 360 wasn't around then, but I bought two, hooked 'em up to my HTPC and am very happy.

Just purchased a Logitech Cordless RumblePad 2 and it's great. Have been playing Madden non-stop since hooking it up yesterday. My last controller was the Saitek p880, and while its a good controller too, the button configurations for Madden and other EA games are a little funky.

Anyway, so far, its the best controller I've used on the pc, and having no wires to deal with is a nice extra. I just wish they sold a less expensive 'non-rumble' version, since I'll never use that feature. but other than that its great.

i modified my xbox(original) controller's dongle piece in a way that i can plug it into my usb slot... all it took was some soldering and an old usb mouse that i had to sacrifice... works great!
