no we should feed him more, that way he might die

trolls merely turn more rabid when you overfeed them.
Haven't you seen Gremlins?

Also, overfeeding them may also just cause them to spawn more trolls.
I think we're already overpopulated with trolls in OT as it is!

Maybe you should try more red meat, it'd help you grow some hair 'down there' like the big boys.

The ironing is that my exercise has probably cost me more in healthcare bills than anything else in my lifestyle in the last 10 years.

Because of sports related injuries I've had an MRI, a half dozen X-Ray's, physical therapy on my achilles and various treatments and therapy for plantar fasciitis.

Harvard disagrees with you fleabag. A recent study from them points fingers at processed meats versus unprocessed red meats. 4 oz a day adds up to 28oz a week if my math is accurate.

But hey, who said Harvard is a reliable source.

The fact that fleabag doesn't have a source ... you win.

I call shens. I watched my Dad eat red meat, at Lake Tahoe, IN THE WINTER, and he's still alive.

That sounds like proof to me.. exercise = unhealthy.

Heh. I was joking with somebody the other day about my various exercise related injuries. I said something to the affect that I'd get hurt less, and cost less if I just sat on a couch and played Madden instead. Who ever got hurt playing video games?

:p

PSA - Having taxes taken out of your paycheck, then getting it all back at the end of the year does not equal "paying taxes".

Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! I have an idea!

How about you actually read the articles published in peer-reviewed journals on the subject first and then if you have any conclusions you can post them here in the confidence that you can back up your arguments with precise, well-written articles of well-conducted studies instead of stumbling into here with no backup and a statement so vague you could sail a supertanker through it?
Exactly.

I hope you are more representative of the population of NZ than the skewed view we ATOTers have of your people. :)

um.... not necessarily.. The main cost is when these people get help and their lives are extended through the use of pharmaceuticals. So the only way that would be true is if the 50 year old just flat out died, almost in an unexpected way. Who says the same can't happen to the 80 or 90 year old? My grandmother who lived to 90 only really started to get expensive treatment when she was like 87 because she fell and broke her hip, which from then on was her true downfall and life from then on got significantly worse for her. She ate badly "relatively speaking" but she could have been far worse. In other words, she ate well enough to live a long time but not well enough to live a more fruitful life in her later years. One would have hoped that if she took care of herself her whole life, she wouldn't have had such bad osteoporosis as she did.

It's hard to say and every situation is different but for the most part, taking care of yourself leads you to live a longer life. This couldn't be more true than for my grandmother's husband (grandpa) who died at 75 because he not only ate very badly but was also a smoker. If there was anyone miserable AND spending a lot of money on healthcare, it would've been him. He probably was getting lots of medical services for around 5-7 years before he kicked the bucket.

The two statements are not mutually exclusive.
