I see my niece all the time, I don't really "need" pictures of her and it's not like I'm looking back on staged photographs with great memories or something.

I keep a picture of her on a bookcase in my living room just for the sake of it. when my sister gives me a new picture, the old one gets thrown out and the new one goes in its place.

Not to mention, with Facebook and the multitudes of picture sites out there, you can always see pictures of your nieces and nephews if you want.

LOL!!! Are you sure it wasn't the Christmas card?

I once gave an autographed picture of myself as a white elephant gift.

I never throw out history. Unused pictures go into a box where they take up little room. You may be interested in the age progression some time in the future, or someone else may want the pictures.

Be happy you still have relatives who interact with you. I get the feeling it won't be for very much longer.

I am being a little harsh. How old are you? I assume this is your sister and she use to buy you presents when you were younger?
Did you get any presents this year?

As for me, my relatives send me pictures of the kids all the time. They live away so I don't mind.

So here we go, just for you for Xmas:

That's the difference, your relatives are able to send you pictures of cute kids. When the OP receives pictures of his relatives' kids, it only serves as a harsh reminder of the genetic offshoot his family has become. :p
