Yesterday I posted a thread that UPS were taking their sweet time because of a weather delay. No problem, I understand s*** happens.

Now suddenly my package I ordered on the 21st is in the twilight zone. My patience....she wears thin:|

My advice ....use FedEx guys when shopping with The Egg, they made a HUGE mistake going with UPS.

Ive always paid the extra $5-$10 going with fedex from newegg. Its just not worth the hassle of UPS.

6 of one, half a dozen of the other. I have shipped hundreds of packages through each carrier, both are pretty good about package handeling (as good as expected). They both lose crap from time to time. FedEx has been slightly better during claims on missing packages, so if anything that's the reason to go with them.

I'd be interested to see actual numbers on missing packages by each company...

Good luck getting your stuff. :)

if you had the drivers we have around here with fedex, you'd do just what I do... UPS for everything I can. UPS rocks here, great drivers, no problems. YMMV

So if we pay for 3 day shipping and UPS takes 6 days to deliver. Can we get our shipping cost back do to failure to deliver?

i used to work at ups as a package handler, and EVERY SINGLE package handler there is very rough with packages. when theres a deluge of packages coming down the conveyor belt, you dont have a choice. its either get it done fast or get another job. im sure its the same at fedex, but ive seen how ups does things firsthand. fedex for me :)

See, and I've stopped using fedex from newegg because they screwed up the last 4 out of 6 orders. I haven't had any issues since using ups from newegg.

Both have been great for me... i got 3 day shipping on an order just this week. One package came next day, two came after 2 days and the final is coming tommorrow. Fedex was always good to me as well though.

UPS was supposed to deliver a package to my house yesterday. I checked the tracking online and they indicated it was delivered to the front door at 6:42. We were home and the UPS truck was never even there. The driver makes regular deliveries here so it's not like he doesn't know where it is. So now my package is in limbo. I notified UPS and the shipper about the problem. I suspect that the driver was running behind so he may have just scanned the package and indicated it was delivered, leaving it on his truck for the next day. I have another package supposedly on the truck today so I guess I'll find out soon enough. I'm left wondering what possible recourse I may have. First choice is to contest the charges with my credit card company since I havesn't received the item, and then let the shipper file a claim with UPS. Not sure this will work since the vendor can claim that UPS indicated it was delivered. This is not the first time our driver has failed to deliver a package that tracking showed was on the truck. But they usually indicated not in or whatever so it's the first time they have shown a package as delivered when they didn't even make an attempt.

I haven't had a problem with any package getting to me that doesn't use the USPS. Then again, I don't sit at home counting every minute until the package gets to my front door. I order enough in advance that time isn't a problem. As long as I get it, I am happy.

Doesn't matter who you use for shipping, newegg will take care of you. If your shipment doesn't show up, contact newegg - they'll help.

Agreed. I prefer to buy from NewEgg even if it means paying a few more dollars. Unfortunately they were out of the item I wanted and apparently don't even stock it now. So I purchased a Benq 1640 DVD drive from Directron. I have ordered from them before and have not had a problem. As it turns out my package was delivered this evening so problem solved. I'm certain now that the driver did what I theorized in my previous post. He scanned the package indicating it had been delivered and left it on the truck for today. Never bothered to make a delivery attempt. Pretty sorry excuse for an employee if you ask me. Guess it's hard to find good help even when you're paying excellent wages.

i ordered from svc.com using ups (just fans and stuff). the box was pretty beat up (dents, water marks, A HOLE!), but nothing inside was very fragile so i wasn't worried.
