PSA - Source For Desktop Wallpapers

Since interfacelift seems to be slowly dying, I looked around for a new source of wallpapers this past weekend, and came across unsplash. Seems to be a popular site, and they have a lot of great photos, 100% libre. All pictures are under a free license identical to cc0*(why didn't they just use that?), and can be used for any purpose, including commercial. Check it out...

https://unsplash.com

edit:
* I see the difference. It isn't /completely/ free. You can't compile the photos to use on a competing service. cc0 would be free for any use, including a competing service.

I get a server 500 error trying to go to their site, but it could be because I'm behind a corporate firewall.

Do they have a good selection of dual screen / dual widescreen backgrounds?

I tend to just use pictures I took. This reminded me I was due for a change. 😛 My new wallpaper:

Actually I'd have to submit some of my better ones to libre wallpaper sites. Would be kinda cool to know that others might use them too.

They're photographs, so the resolution's fixed, but typically high. I use the various 'force fits'(usually zoomed) available on the xfce desktop to use it as a wallpaper.

I use pictures from my vacations. They rotate every 30 minutes. I have enough now that one will pop up and it will take me a minute or two to remember where I took the picture. Great way to remember your vacations and makes the money you spend on them worthwhile.

It's just images, I don't see how there would be malware in that. Then again there have been some messed up security flaws in programs that are only suppose to display media and somehow manage to execute code.

Probably not much of an issue in Linux though. I guess that's one of the up sides of it being less popular, it's less targeted.

Bored, so here's my home desktop...

Features a pic I got from unsplash(edited it to make it closer to normal resolution. It was tall and huge as an original), plus xdecorations rain for springtime

My current one at work:

Might be due for a change, had it for a while. I don't tend to take as much pictures in winter, too hard on the fingers. 😛 Some winter scenes would be really nice though, I'd have to figure out a way to keep my hands warm and still be able to use the camera. Would be cool to go snow shoeing in some trails or something.
