out of courtesy i always wait until after 9am to mow the lawn, but i think that is late enough.

my sister in law always complains, but she chooses to stay up til 4am playing computer games.

You only got 4 hours of sleep because you went to bed at 5AM....whcih was your choice, so stop complaining about the neighbor and look at the true cause for your lack of sleep. You're an engineering student so I'm sure you can figure it out, if not I understand why you thnk school is so hard 😉.

The fact that I slept at 5am is beside the point here (although I was obviously more irritated because of that; I just think that 9:00am is a little too early for anything that noisy. I got carried away when I said noon was the earliest it could be tolerated further up in the thread (I was more than just a little displeased at the time). I'd say it's reasonable to expect people to be sleeping in until 10:00/10:30 weekends so I wouldn't personally do anything noisy before then out of consideration for others.

edit: I actually do have a set of earplugs but I didn't have them handy when I woke up this morning.

10:30? Jesus, that' the middle of the day! I'm sorry most people (the working world) get up much earlier. 9 is not early in the morning. 8 is fair game in my book, but 9 is being nice. If you don't want to get up then thats your choice, but you can't expect the other 90% of the population to put their busy day on-hold bc you're hungover.

Although I do disagree that college is unquestionably easy. I'm glad I'm out really. The free time was fun, but the actual school was a PITA. The good thing about working is once you are home, its your time. No studying, writing papers (well some do, but their tough luck) doing HW. God, I never want to have a job that follows me home. HW is the devil.

I hope you can still hear your smoke detectors.

Oh come now. 10:30 isn't even morning yet. Not when you work 2nd or 3rd shift.

And 90%? Heh. The percentage of 1st shifters is a lot lower than that. Just because you feel superior enough to not notice us, does not mean we do not exist.

The town that I live in survives because of the manufacturing/production buisnesses. The companies around here run 24 hours a day. At least a third of each companies workforce is on 2nd or 3rd shift. Sometimes more than half. (And these estimates do include the "pansy" jobs of office personell/clerical work that do the usuall 9-5 stuff.)

im sorry, but why dont you go out and try to do your yardwork a 1 pm wen the sun is out, its about 90 degrees, and your sweatin your ass off. while he is in sitting on his ass watching tv drinkin a cold .

MIKE

I could do my yard work at 2am. The weather is nice, and I am just getting "warmed up" after a 10 hour shift.

ok, do it, and ill just call the cops on ya for disturbing the peace.

MIKE

Hah! Touched a nerve there didn't I?

Here's the thing. I do not do such things because I am considerate of those around me.
But I am just an asshole for expecting the same in return, aren't I?

Me first, right?

It's not? When is appropriate, then? 10? 11? 12? 1? 2?

Be thankful it's not 7.

Anything that wakes up the ENTIRE fvcking neighborhood is inappropriate before 12:00. Believe it or not, on Sat. mornings some people like to sleep in

Move further out into the wilderness. LAMER 😉

Well it's almost time to go out and finish leaf blowing I hope my neighbor RaynorWolfcastle isn't still sleeping. 🙂

Ah, I see the problem now.....you are a kid. Don't get mad but if you are still in college you are a kid in my opinion. Knowing this I would laugh at you even louder and longer if you bitched at me about leaf blowing at 9AM on a Saturday morning.....HAHAHAHAHAHA.

I stay up quite late myself on Fridays and Saturdays but I still don't bitch if the neighbor is out there at sun up doing the lawn because it was my choice to stay up late and he has a full schedule of things he only has 1.5 days a week to do. Your in college so life is easy and you complain about someone blowing leaves at 9AM......HAHAHAHAHA.

If you think college life is easy then you obviously weren't in engineering school. My typical work week is 40-60 hours if you include assignments/studying/lecture/lab time; near the end of term it's more like 12 hours/day 6 days a week. So don't lecture me with a condescending tone on how "college life is easy".

BWAHAHAHAHAHa..

wait.

BWAHAHAHAHA....

Comparatively speaking, college life is easy.

Also, 10:30 is only 30 minutes to lunch. Yes, that is the middle of the day. Most of us with families, houses, etc got the partying out while in college. Yes, it was fun, but it was time to grow up (and I don't mean that in a condescending way), and move on to more important things.

/me checks watch.. ahh crud, time to go start up the mower and mow the back yard.

Me too...10:00 is late enough. Hope I don't wake the neighbors that were partying all night

Friday nights at 10:00 PM is NOT the time to be blasting your stereo, believe it or not some people like to sleep so they can get up early and do yard work.

I have a sleeping disorder so I typically can only sleep during the day. However, 9AM is pretty much acceptable even to me.
