Yeah you guys do a good job, the AT mods have struck a nice balance between the nazi mods on some forums and the waste of space useless mods on other forums. Good stuff

But I've also learned that the size of the target is mostly up to the individual.

Most of the mods here do a great job.
I'd let you moderate me any day.
That'd be like letting Dr. Mengele give you a prostate exam.

Let's keep your personal preferences private, k?

Agreed. I liked the old system quite a bit as it did represent a sort of invincible and anonymous collective overmind. It was great fun and a lot of the mod quotes from the past are instant classics. I feel like there was more of a sense of humor on both sides of the fence.

I was, for many years, a mod on a board about a third the size of this one. Over the years some of the mods there have made the place into something of a personal playground and dissent isn't very much tolerated which is a shame. The fact that a board of this size has maintained a lot of its culture and member base over the years is a testament to good stewardship by the moderators and they should be commended for that.

Harvey supported these forums for years on more or less a fulltime basis, when he could no longer continue to give so much of his time and still manage to find time to earn enough money to live on and he requested a salary, they decided they didn't want to pay him and dumped the job on poor Derek.. but they sure as heck didn't mind accepting Harvey's continued unpaid work here ,particularly in the FS/FT forums where his active support of the troll hunters and pursuit of rip off artists helps make this one of the bet places to trade hardware on the internet.

Respect starts from the top down, one cannot expect the membership to value and respect the mods when the paid admins and site owner do not.. and it's clear that Anand and his paid staff have zero respect for their mod crew, if they did, they'd have immediately terminated all the old staff when Derek was brought on and taken on the job of manning the ship themselves till they'd trained their new crew of mods.It would have been sad but understandable, the new broom sweeps clean. It's been said that people only value and respect things in direct proportion to what they pay for them... and that seems to hold quite true here imho.

I've been banned, suspended, edited and had things deleted and at NO TIME have i ever had a problem with any of it, the moderators here tell me why (well there are exceptions) and explain the situation, most of the times i have been given a choice of an edit or a ban, i think that is basic Common Courtesy. :D

Hayabusa Rider, Bsobel, Common Courtesy, Perknose and Harvey are people i would not mind meeting in real life and people i would trust with a £100 000 briefcase without a second thought.

They make this forum great. Thank you!

Oh, and as you were. ;)

I think its necessary for me to chime in on this one. I am proof that posting here is not a right. I have been given more vacations than most members and even perma banned. I deserved all I got and should have been banned far before I was. Them letting me back is a testimony to their character.

Harvey, Perknose, Minendo, Olds, Evadman, Red...they ARE AT in my eyes. I am not trying to take away form CC or Bsobel, I just don't know them well. The ones I mentioned are the ones I have known and chatted with for years. Even before they revealed themselves as mods, they were the most respected and helpful members of AT.

My point is that the mods and admin are all great people. They do a ton of work for free with no reward other than asshats like me giving them a hard time. I only hope that in the future I can be of assistance to them instead of being the pain that I was.

You guys are great. Keep up the great work. It is appreciated greatly.

Since were sucking up, put me down for one Gratuitous platitude, and one empty vote of confidence.
