Supposedly, according to the creator Bill Lawrence, this season is supposed to be more like the older seasons before it got to campy. Even he admits the show's material got kinda weak.
Zach Braff has said he's not coming back after this season. The "new interns" are supposed to have been chosen with the idea that they would be the new cast if the show continues.

What's the point if Zach is gone?

Let's face it, it's really the J.D. show.

donald faison and john c mcginley are fantastic to watch too. but without zach braff, the show really would fall apart

zap2it says one of the interns is already going to be doing some nbc show.

i'm looking foward to it. they said they are getting away from the more zany comedy and making it more natural. hopefully it's better than season 6/7

So two episodes - the first I actually laughed out loud at. It was good. The second was a bit more serious. Overall, it's one of the better shows on TV - and it was much better than the last season.

They are pushing the new interns hard, though. Definitely trying to set them up to hold a show on their own. I don't like any of them.

Also, I was mistaken - both were in HD. I am positive I read that the show was not going to be in HD, though. Can't remember where.

Edit: For no HD, I read this. Well, not this exact article, but one that used the same quote from the creators. Didn't realize it was that old. Oh well, looks good in HD.

I don't think so. For many viewers JD is the most annoying character. Like Michael on The Office we suffer through him to watch the people we really like. More Kelso and Cox and they wouldn't need Dorian at all.

The funniest thing Scrubs could do at this point would be to turn it into a crime drama with no warning or explanation whatsoever. Who wouldn't watch that?

3 things:

1) HD does not work for this show

2) Where the heck is Janitor?

3) While I like Scrubs, I can't believe they canned the last 3 episode of Pushing Daisies to show repeats of this. :|

Awwwww, I liked Pushing Daisies (which many find annoying) but couldn't stand Scrubs (which many seem to love.)

Meh.

Worse yet, the word on the street is that we're going to be waiting until this summer (June-ish) for ABC to air the rest of Pushing Daisies.🙁

I didn't find the two new episodes all that funny.

First one was so-so.

Second one... Right up there with the episode where Cox kills a bunch of patients or the one where Laverne dies. Not funny at all, but nice to see a sitcom that can occasionally deal with serious issues.

i like the fact that it can show humanity, but not serve it up cold... House tries the funny but serious bit, and it comes off sometimes bland or cold. even though when house is funny.. its usually him being very cold or stand-offish

I thought both episodes were very good. I too enjoy how Scrubs can be serious and funny at the same time and pull it off very very well. Much better than any other show I can think of in all honesty. The only negative thing, now with so many seasons under its belt its serious "messages" are getting repetitive.
