FYI, I put this here so that people who Don't frequent periphs might see it.

Some people only visit Hot Deals, so you should probably put it in there too, just to be super duper extra helpful.

I for one appreciate what So has posted. i never visit peripherals. Freaking nik is an a$$ to just about everyone, even the ones trying to be helpful.

Does lying make you feel better about yourself?

... yet again...

Nik, I think a vortex of illogic surrounds you.

The other thing that's always pissed me off about the MX700 is that for some reason, no matter what drivers I use, the middle click button does not work right, it's jaggy and fvcked up. I have to program the button behind it to function like I want it, and it works fine. I've gotten so used to it over the last 3 years but I've never had anyone else tell me they have the same problem. I did get it when it first came out, so maybe it's something they improved?

Incentive to maybe call and get a replacement for not charging.. hmm.

Story of my life :(

It brings up a 4 way cursor and is slow as fvck to scroll down with, when it works. I have everything set right, multiple different formats of Windows (unrelated to this problem, time to reinstall), etc. Nothing seems to help. The button below it works like a dream though.

Multiple revisions, even when I don't use them and use the default Windows ones.

It also used to have this problem where like, the buttons would just stop doing what they were programmed to, but I found a lot of other people had the same issue and there was some obscure checkbox that had nothing to do with the problem that needed to be checked. Buggiest POS drivers ever.

I used to have to kill EM_EXEC.exe and restart it for the drivers to work again. This hasn't been an issue since I found that checkbox.

... if it's actually bringing up the 4 way arrows, then I would think that it's a software issue rather than a mouse issue :-\

I installed the drivers, hated them, and pulled them within 30 minutes. I don't miss the 'alt-tab button' (although I'd like to use it for something else, it's not worth the hassle).

One would think so, but it does this even with a fresh install of Windows and no software even loaded yet.

Do you not program any of the buttons on the mouse then?

Why would I?

Back/forward works fine scroll up /down works fine, mouse 3 works fine, wheel works fine. Games let me assign to buttons as normal. What more do I need? (I'm being serious here...Is there something I'm missing)?

I don't know about him, but I just plug my MX700 into any windows xp computer (well... I've used it on several), and all of the buttons work properly, without any programming or drivers...

<edit> I'll correct myself - the button 2 buttons below the wheel doesn't work... but I honestly didn't remember that because I've never tried to use it, or wanted to :-\

I program the forward button to be F5 to refresh webpages I am on, and the back button to go back.
