Anyone want to bet me a billion that MegaMillions goes up to a billion? 😀

Now that the difficulty has changed they should just call it MegaBillions. Ha!

I guess it increases your odds of being one of the winners but if it doesn't increase EV i still don't see the point.

because being the only one of your coworkers who doesn't get to tell your asshole boss to F off sucks.

(edit: i see that was covered)

for a given EV, i'd rather have more chances. even after taxes and splitting you're still talking about significant money. maybe not quite as life changing but you're still paying off the home and paying the property taxes on it forever.

BOO! No billion dollar jackpot.

There was atleast one winner. CA lottery commission is saying there was a winning ticket purchased in San Jose, CA.

That was so close to me...and yet, not me. 🙁

Darn it, nothing for me. <sad panda>

I was looking forward for $1 billion USD drawing for Christmas Eve. 😀

ABC Nightline said 70% of all lottery winners end up losing all of the money within a few years. <awe>

Sex and drugs must be expensive.

Why's that? I have a hand-made ticket: 10,11,12,13,14; 15

They don't accept tickets you made yourself.

Good news is that I don't need to play another dollar now. Enough tickets were sold to cover 70% of the numbers was what I heard on the radio.

I just would think people would do something a little more random. The numbers go 1-75. While I understand that the odds of any 7 numbers are exactly equal, I would think people would spread them out a bit.

Oh so all those pencil tickets are for lottery games below Mega Millions and Powerball? I have never looked closely I just assumed all the games were available in that format.

I think he interpreted hand-made as you bringing in a slip of paper with numbers that you penciled in.

If you want to pick your own numbers, you do have to fill out those cards, but the vendor will use them to input into the machine that prints out your legitimate tickets.

It's not lost when you give it away.

I won nothing (only 1 number here and there in each ticket). At least I spent less than $10.

Well, good luck to the two (2) jackpot winners. May you spend the money wisely and not get into trouble/blow all of it away.

Give it away? Like this guy? = http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/20/us/lottery-windfall-disasters/ 😀

Yet by 2007, barely four years after what should have been the luckiest day of his life, Whittaker was a broken-down man who had lost his granddaughter to drugs and who had a reputation for DUIs, frequenting strip clubs and getting robbed. His divorce would be finalized the following year. His daughter would die the next.

Or like these chumps? = http://nypost.com/2012/03/30/winners-beware-meet-the-four-who-went-from-jackpot-to-jack-squat/

"A lucky Maryland player bought the $1 million second-tier winning ticket"

so now just deciding how to spend it 🙂
