I'm (car) traveling from Thursday-Sunday....but not like I would still offer to be as awesome as vivi and organize such a thing. 😀

The one benefit is that here in Maryland there are no state taxes on lotto winnings, but it's not something I can do right now.

I've heard of scratchers printing lots of tickets that one or two people realized were sending out repeated sets of blocks on specific weeks--like a known set of blocks on the 2nd week printing or something like that (not fraud, but terrible randomization), but has there been fraud with the RNG machines for the printed tickets?
 
If an established and reputable AT'er is willing to collect funds and keep track, I'll buy the tickets.

If you're interested in volunteering or joining a potential lotto pool, let me know. If there is enough interest we'll take this offline and make it happen. My goal is at least $500+ in tickets and I have Friday off from work 😉

I could probably do that management bit if you can track down the tickets come time to buy? You'll just need about 500-1500 cash to grab them. Depending how many we get this time around.

Before Purch ownership and it was a decision between Derek and Anand, I think.

Something about liability which does make sense in the end. Say the completely improbable chance the pool does win, it only takes one asshole in the pool to raise a stink about god knows what and with it being tied to the forums, such an asshole could make life miserable for Anandtech as well.

The most recent one of these seemed to go through AT forums without banishment--that was the $1 billion PB lotto.

At least, it was openly discussed and followed here where before any mention of it was forbidden in the forums. I think Vivi still organized it through his website

Yeah it's pretty well run now... The billion was our last, and I think we had like 93 people in that one. We also are on our 8th if we do this one!

Let me hit up rossman and see if he can do the buying, and i'll do the management/collection.

Deal and cash flow isn't a problem as long as I'm fully reimbursed and I'll even cover the PayPal/venmo fees. I would like to have $10 minimum buy in and option to buy multiple shares, what do you think?
