I tried one the last time it was in my area and there was an ATOT thread. As Cleveland says, "Oh, that's nasty."

If you like regular McD's burgers I don't see why you wouldn't like the McRib. It's good!

It's covered in gobs of BBQ sauce, how could you possibly call it tasteless?

The "meat" itself seems to have no taste. As another poster put it, it's indistinguishable from tofu. What good is a lot of "meat" if it has no meaty texture or taste? As a side issue, their BBQ sauce isn't very good, either.

Never liked it. I think their tactic of only offering it for short periods of time causes an artificial demand. People then convince themselves that they like it.

isn't this the same rib they serve in highschool cafeterias?

The sad thing is I think the highschool cafeteria ones are actually slightly better.

That's pretty much it. It as a cult following because of this, and McDonald's is keen to take advantage. If it were always a regular option, it would be rarely ordered and no one would talk about it like its a big thing.

They should call it the i-Rib.

There is a reason why they don't run this as a permanent menu item and only allow those who pull up to the trough small doses...
