Those bastards, holding that gun to your head forcing you to buy that DLC.

And clearly the game just isn't the same if you don't have the two promo weapons and promo armor. I know not having all of the special rings really ruined DAO for everyone.

Classic...lol. This is how I feel. I play the game for the game. I could care less about under powered weapons and ugly armor that you'll replace about 25-30minutes into the game anyway.

It is to some people. In every ME3 thread there are always several people going "GOLLY I CAN'T WAIT FOR IT TO BE CHEAP ON STEAM!".

The very simple truth is people are spoiled. I can pretty much guarantee that if Steam never ever once had sales of games that weren't newer releases, nobody would be complaining the same way. Honestly either you want to play Mass Effect 3 or you don't. If you do want to play it you wouldn't be a baby about it and you'd play it and probably even enjoy it.

I find it funny that people are still crying like babies about games not being on steam and only being available on Origin. After using Origin since the release of BF3, I can tell you guys that A) Origin isn't that bad & B) using it will not kill you. It's like you guys must spend 10x more time deciding what game to play then actually playing games given how much you are whining about this. Do you not understand why one game publisher wouldn't want to support another games publisher's download service? It is just hilarious that people would voluntarily not buy a game because they have to spend 30 seconds clicking a different icon to play it.

People are entitled to hate Origin, EA, Bioware or whatever. That's their business and it's their opinion. No harm. However, the issue I have is threads that are nothing more than complaints about the above mentioned companies and services. If you choose not to buy EA games fine, if you won't buy ME3 fine, if you hate Origin and it killed your cat fine. I just don't think it's necessary to hop online and preach about it.

I was never a huge EA fan, and when they started banning people from their forums for doing nothing wrong and taking their games away(like getting sweared at, not doing the swearing but getting sweared at, someone tells you to f off on the EA forums and you loose all origin games, sounds fair right? lmao). So i decided never to support EA again, so will never use a game that requires their software.

Im a huge mass effect fan, i even bought the first one retail then again later on steam since i prefer to have games on steam. But untill ME 3 hits steam for $5 or less im going to have to go without.

EDIT: link incase anyone missed it last year

ATI/AMD does same thing. I got banned from their forum for asking why HDMI out did not work properly on their 3450 cards. i was nice and polite too...they just didn't want anything negatively affecting their product.

Easy fix...avoid their forums. Not saying it's right and I understand the principal of what you're saying. I just think avoiding great games because of something that won't ever affect you, is weird.

Everything on the PC, regardless of vender or format, activates via origin.

And yeah it is EA so I can understand the hate, but from what I've seen of Origin, I like it. Loads twice as fast as steam on my system. Now if EA ever starts abusing the service my opinion will obviously change, but for now it's a solid piece of software and a very legit distribution platform.

Same reason people hated Steam when it first came out and introduced Counter-Strike 1.6.

I wonder how many sales they lost on BF3 and ME3 while pushing origin?

QFT,I'm no EA fan however do like Mass Effects games and have pre-ordered ME3,I have no issues using Origin for ME3,works fine for me just like Steam does, end of the day you have a choice ie buy or don't,nobody is forcing you one way or the other.

I 'll say I never pay extra for DLC,only DLC I use is one that comes with CE versions or pre-orders.

One thing I will never do is pirate games,no matter how evil some people think EA are,end of the day its the big fat cats at top of EA that make the decisions not the hard working game designers/programmers etc so I do my bit to support the PC games industry.

Anyway hope to be enjoying and playing ME3 end of the weekend ;) .

Probably enough to be noticeable, but not enough to matter.

Also, I'm at work. I don't have a ton to do here, so I nef. I just choose to nef about how much EA sucks :p

They didn't take your video card away as an additional penalty though. Big difference.

Probably not enough to offset the money they would have being paying Valve.

How much of a cut does Valve take for each game sold?

The reason why I like Steam is because it allows smaller dev companies to market and sell their games without having to rely on or be bought out by publishers like EA (who will proceed to milk them for all their worth and then dump them after a few games).

I pre-purchased on Amazon. I am not happy with Origin or EA in general. However I am a fan of the ME series and I want to finish it. If I had the choice I would have purchased the game on Steam.

They can just keep it on Origin then, and me along with numerous other people will never buy it.

Most of those people will find out other means to get it, many of which would have purchased it had they been given an option.

Frankly, the same goes for Steam.

These guys can keep pushing DRM down our throats or new activation methods, and thats fine. They're only hurting themselves.

Read the fine print when you agree to post on their forums and don't be an idiot. Anyone that has been banned had it coming simply because they are too stupid to stick to the terms of the EULA's they agree to.

Not EA's fault. User error only.

Also, origin is fine so stop complaining.

The thing that really blows my mind is that EA games not being on Steam is strictly Steam's fault. Not EA. So if you want to bitch and moan like little children at least direct it to the right place.

No one is saying EA shouldn't be able to ban you from their forums.

There is no defense however for banning people from their rightfully purchased games over forum violations. Doubly so for those people who did not actually commit any forum violations themselves. Where does it say in the EULA that if another forum poster commits violations at you that you can be held responsible for it?

But even those people who do commit forum violations, unless they are criminal acts(such as posting instructions that help people pirate games), there's no excuse for denying people access to their games.

And if that fine print of the EULA gives them this ability in some circumstances, laws should promulgated that prevent it. Not that any lawmakers care to help gamers.

So when people swear AT you its your fault? If you believe that i dont know what to tell you other than you are insane.

Why doesn't everyone who buys the game just make an extra origin account for it? That way you could sell the game by including the account info.

I'm sure it's against the ToS to sell or transfer accounts. Not that you couldn't try and maybe get away with it, but I know Valve will suspend a Steam account if they find out it's been transferred. I doubt it's any different with EA and Origin.
