I handle calls every day from people that speak very little English. I take my time, speak slowly and treat them with respect.

I handle calls daily from people that speak minimal english. i work graveyards and at that time of night, most of our employees are offshore... india, mexico, south america.. i have no problems working with someone who is trying.. and understands what i'm asking, but cant express it well.

if i ask you your name, and you say "it no work" .. that tells me you aren't trying, and have no clue what i'm asking. i know for a fact that there's very fluent speaking people onsite at these locations. i've spoken to them. if you're having a problem and cannot communicate... seek them out.

i cannot help you, if you dont try to help me help you.

There is no official language of the United States of America.
That argument has already been shot down a dozen different ways.

I am learning Spanish because the pussy Republicans and Democrats have been using similar piss-poor logic about the situation since the 1970's and not doing a god damn thing about it.

What argument? I'm stating a fact. Interpret it however you choose.

But what good is it going to be if he knows German? That wouldn't have helped the guy.

Oh, you must mean tri-lingual.

The damn country needs to just say "English is our official language."
I won't get very far if I walk into a math class and expect everyone to respond positively to me when I start saying that 49&52 = 34098 dfl )(239.

Clearly, that is a true statement, in the proper language. You should learn my mathematical language so that you can work with me more easily.

Maybe the US government should give a halfway decent education to its citizens instead of free handouts to both foreign countries who dont like us and illegal aliens in our own country.

/End angry rant by young man soon to start voting Republican.
Or do write-ins. I kind of view them as a vote of no confidence for the excuse of a lineup of candidates that we seem to get each cycle. Kind of like, "Sorry folks, this is the best we could do. We apologize for the inconvenience."
And I guess I can feel a bit better knowing I won't have to say, "Yeah....I voted for <sentient slime mold in public office>."
