luckily this particular dog didn't seem interested in eating my leg, i was more worried about running it over and wrecking my bike/hurting the dog. please keep your dogs under control for everyone's safety.

Idiots! I feel bad for the dogs because everyone thinks they should attack them instead of attacking the culprit. (the owners)

When someone is caught letting their dog run loose the penalty should be having the dog on a leash but instead of a hand loop the chain should be attached to the owner's penis with a chinese finger puller. Women would have them attached to a nipple ring. :evil:

It's the owner who would raise/train a dog that would do that. Still on the owner.

Well if he wasn't aggressive then you could have stopped and checked his tags and called animal control to report the owner for letting him off leash. Granted one complaint might not do much, but enough of them will get the guy a ticket hopefully.

Time to attack me. I let mine run loose at the park near my house where you aren't allowed too. Everybody does.
The only people that go up there are walking dogs, playing disc golf and half of them have dogs, or gay guys looking to hook up in the woods/cars. I wouldn't let mine run loose at the other parks in the area since they are busier and too close to traffic. I do at least call my dogs back when I see people walking little kids or other people walking dogs on leashes. I've seen cops up there while walking my dog off leash and even they don't care.

Depends on the breed. Some breeds are docile by nature, other breeds are aggressive by nature. Not all aggressive dogs have owners who beat them or something.

Cool, by taking this attitude, you've effectivley negated any arguement you might make against someone else for their selective obeying of laws.
AND by posting this here, you made evident your pattern of behavior should one of your dogs attack and injure someone.
BTW, cops don't "care" until your dogs threaten them or someone else. Then they're just targets.

If the city wanted dogs running loose thru the parks and neighborhoods they would buy them and release them in the parks and neighborhoods.

Keep your damn dog on your own property.

Easy fix. Just carry around a big ziplock baggie full of the stuff. Dog gets close, LET HIM HAVE IT!
Then stand around for 10 or 15 minutes of good lulz.

just run it over, it's not your fault the dog isn't on a leash. kick it into the bushes or something. feed it alkeseltzer (sp?). ummm, what else, peanut butter is good, but hot mustard is better.

when you're not sitting in the comfort of a car and are relatively protected, you do tend to become more sensitive to things that can knock you out of your bike or cause you to do something rash like pedal furiously to get away without looking for obstacles.

I swear, the MUPs around here are more dangerous than riding on the streets. I've had more close counters on MUPs with people walking their dogs, clueless joggers, and families with small children than I've ever had with cars on the roadways here in SoCal. I'd say that and parking lots are probably the most dangerous places to ride a bicycle.

Depends on the park though. Some are leash-free.

While I don't agree with aggressive dogs, if it's a leash-free area then a dog is the same as a pedestrian. The cyclist must give right-of-way.
