PSA: iTunes has a free episode of Monk...

Hmm Videos from itunes are actually watchable. Im running at 1680x1050 and full screen it looks decent quality for $2.00. I might have to buy some videos to keep on my laptop.

I've heard there are free shows floating around in the air too! They use something called "radio waves", and all you need to watch them is a long metallic object called an "antenna" connected to a box with a glass window in it. Or so they say.

😉

I know you're being sarcastic and all, but would you want a "long metallic object" sticking off of your iPod or PSP (or other portable video device). Even then, could you watch whatever you wanted whenever you wanted? Some things are worth paying for. 🙂

You can receive the USA Network w/ an antenna? 😉

I watched one episode of this show during a plane trip, and I thought initially it was kind of cheesy and not realistic. After awhile however, I found out that is ITS APPEAL. It is quite enjoyable if you accept its cheesiness. Plus, if you like mysteries or whodunits, you might like this show.

You remind me of a turd I crapped earlier this evening.

Listen up Ornery, there are 2 reasons people would want to download this, I'll even bullet-point them for easy reading:
  • Some people actually like the show Monk.
  • This is a lot of people's first look at iTunes videos without having to pay $2 to test it out.
I fall in the latter category, and I'm satisfied with the quality of the videos at full screen. Pretty damned decent for $2 an episode, now we'll wait and let Google get it's stuff fleshed out (the NBA game sample they have looked like sh|t IMO).

I had pretty much the same transition with the show. At first thought (rightfully so) that it was lame and cheesy. But after awhile, it grows on you and you actually like it.

Still, I won't be downloading it. For one I don't use Itunes. And overall I just have a problem with the current pricing models of paying for content a la carte. $2.00 and $0.99 sounds cheap when taken individually. But it's always the little things that add up to nickel and dime you to death. Just my personal take, but I'd prefer to download free video with commercial advertising embedded in it.
