PSA it is easier to keep things straight when you don't give your company your name

there should be a law against "fishing for replies" just like everybody hates someone who "fishes for compliments"

...god i'm so unattractive...

lets say my name is john smith. i have a company. i decide that it should be a limited liability entity, so i incorporate in some fashion. i call it john smith, inc. doing so invites confusion as to whether someone is dealing with john smith individually or with john smith, inc.

Just watch out when you run into the company "Chompman Inc."

You will not know what they do until it is to late. 😛

You'd be surprised how many people want to talk with "John Smith", especially when they are angry. I used to work for a company that took two of its founders last names as the company name, and we always got a kick out of people acting like they knew "him" and demanded that we put 'him" on the phone.
