This person does it all the time. Cranks that sh*t UP and talks loudly during the meeting, too. This person has a damned headset, wireless, RIGHT THERE. USE THAT FVCKER.

No, I can't say anything to her. I suppose I could, but it's just easier to complain here.

Title edited to remove profanity.

I used to know two guys at work who were literally 10 feet from each other and would speakerphone to talk to each other, their voices were louder than the speakerphone

Couldn't agree more. If you are using a speaker phone...you better be in an office and with the door closed.

It's easier, but also provides less of a solution.

Completely agree. Our AP manager does this all the time, coupled with the fact she has a very annoying voice to begin with, it really, really grinds my gears.

I just plain hate talking on the phone when in a cube environment. Everyone can hear every word you say.

I had a co-worker who used to screech (that's the best description for her voice) through the office to our boss. She'd have her volume raised up so high you could hear it down the hallway. Big long conversations.

Totally stupid shit like comparing which folders they saw on drives.

Both of them with a phone on their desks. There's lots of ignorance in this world.

Edit: Forgot the best part. I once told her that if her phone wasn't working that she'd be welcome to use mine. She declined because I didn't have access to the drives she did. Went right over her head .... and she kept on screeching.

This gets my vote.

A few times I've had to put it on speaker phone though and hate to do it.

But when I'm on with a vendor for example and my boss walks up and says "put him on speaker" (so my boss can hear whats being said or chime in). I always feel bad about doing it.

On the topic of cubes, I HATE with a passion how people always want to just wander on over to my cube just to shoot the shit every damn day. It just undoes all the ass busting work I work so hard to accomplish every time a manager or director walks by and sees someone I never asked to come by standing there chit chatting to me while I do my damnedest to keep busy and getting shit done.

I just odn't like to speak on the phone in the cube because there is no privacy.

The worst thing I do is listen to voicemails when I get them (1x/week?) in the morning. It happens as I'm turning on the computer, looking at other stuff, etc. Its a few minutes max, and I'm pretty sure it isn't too loud.

I used to work with a person who would stay home a lot. This person kept various birds in her home and when she called in to be on team meetings you could hear these birds chirping in the background the entire call.

You must be related to a co worker of mine.:D Just today, someone walked into his cube to see if he was on the phone, and he exploded on the guy. WTF are you in my cube!! You just walked into my living room!!! You do that shit again, and I'm going to treat you like I would any other uninvited shit!

It was priceless.

unless she posts here too, then she will be wondering if it was about her...

our service manager would use speaker phone for every damn call, and he was a loud mouth red neck to boot. you could hear him in the front office, our area is in the very back. he even had his cell phone on speaker, held it up to his head and would yell into it lol. i used to tell him to stfu all the time. people i was talking to on the phone could hear him.

Get me her number, I'll give her a call, get her on speaker phone so the OP can listen in while I call her an ignorant cow and tell her to STFU.

I could complain to her, but then she may say ok I'll stop as long as you stop sniffing every 100 seconds from your allergies. Yeah, I'm that guy ;)
