I have always been intrigued with the possibility of aliens, etc, but man that show is pure crap. Virtually unwatchable......

I haven't tried it yet, but I assume its like an info commercial. A lot of hot air and talk, with no substance. Hear-say on steroids. Bla bla bla.
But having netflix, I'll can be suckered into taking a look. Maybe.

Only the first two seasons.

And lets be honest, only the first handful of episodes had any substance. They dropped off really quick.

does this show have any credibility? in fact, i'd say it detracts from the credibility of the history channel. remember when they had shows about things that actually happened, and not what may have happened (Ancient Aliens), or what might happen in the future? (Life After People)

part of the reason i want to get rid of cable. the channels i used to like are abandoning me.

cancelled my netflix account long time ago.

nobody cares.

does this show have any credibility?

Of course not. The only time they have actual, acknowledged experts on the show, the experts talk about scientific principles in general and never directly comment on any of the shows claims.

The ones who comment in favor of the theories presented on the show generally have little or no scientific training. Some of the theories are interesting but most have huge holes and one guy on the show (Childress) is the biggest idiot of all and speaks of some of these things as if they're undisputed facts.

I remember when TLC, Discovery, and THC used to be awesome. TLC was the first to turn into trash, and the other two followed suit. Now, H2 (formerly History International) seems to be following in the footsteps of the others. It is tragic and a sad commentary on the state of cable TV. I even wrote THC a long letter about how they've ruined the channel, and for someone like me to do that, you really have to piss me off.

If you think any episode had any credibility then you're a moron.

Clarification. The first handful of episodes are the ones with the information that makes you go 'Hmm, interesting'. By contrast, by the third season, they're so far off into lala land, you just laugh.

There were some interesting stuff in the second season eps though, the Nazi one for example.

Did you get a response at all?

Heh, no time for ancient aliens. They have the original star trek on streaming. I never watched any of them before so I started on episode 1 this morning on the treadmill. 80 one hour episodes, I watch'em 30 minutes at a time. Did the same with Breaking Bad.

I find it entertaining how they can piece together a theory using ancient pictures and symbols.
Now I need to check this out.

The shows I like on history channel are the ones talking about bible stories. Lots of the stuff in the bible seems to have a plausible explanation. First born sons in egypt would be the most likely to die if the food supply was lacking and it was contaminated with mold because the oldest son would get the largest food supply in such a scenario 😉

Nope... but I'm sure that they're listening to that redneck in Alabama with a Neilsen box watching Swamp People marathons on Sundays!

That's right. They obviously think catering to the Nascar crowd is in their best interest.

Reminds me of the 80s sitcom "Newhart." If you guys watched that, you know that Bob Newhart's Dick Louden character always wanted to have interesting, thought-provoking guests on his show but his producer, Peter Scolari's Michael character, always wanted to dumb the show down to cater to the lowest common denominator.

Looks like Peter Scolari's character is in charge of THC now.

I liked the one that postulated that the pyramids were devices for beaming energy to ancient satellites. I thought the rest were pretty boring though.
