im·ply /imˈplī/ Verb: Strongly suggest the truth or existence of (something not expressly stated): "the report implies that two million jobs might be lost".

in·fer /inˈfər/ Verb: Deduce or conclude (information) from evidence and reasoning rather than from explicit statements.

I was inferring US citizens were illegally immigrating. Just to clarify ...

If (as I was inferring) that people want the government to act or put pressure on the league for these actions, then I stand by my statement.

Statements that YOU make can imply other statements or facts which are not expressly stated.

Statements or facts can be inferred from other statements, usually made by someone else that is not you.

Statements imply things to people.

People infer things from statemnts.

That is all.
