I don't think you really have a clue and I am betting your 'company' was a 1987 Buick with a couple magnetic signs on it.
If someone goes out on a site that carries their real name and they list their real employer along with it, the company they work for can indeed have a concern.
Especially if that person goes out with something like "I work for Oscar Meyer and I am willing to bet we do indeed use horse meat in our products".
I don't think that employee would win in a court of law and I am sure they'd side with allowing an immediate termination.
That's more or less what the OP's rules are about. Social Networking sites put up all your brands that are more or less "don't ask, don't tell" at the workplace.
This applies to pseudonyms and not naming the company isn't relevant.
