don't drive like a fucking idiot and drive 10 mph below the posted speed limit. that is actually more dangerous than at least going the speed limit you fucking idiot.

Chill the fuck out. Going below the speed limit is:

1) Legal
2) Not dangerous

What's dangerous is people not keeping their distance, not paying attention, going too fast and getting pissed off at other drivers. Easy stuff really.

It's dangerous because of the speed difference between you and every other driver on the road. This should be self-explanatory.

Its dangerous when people don't keep their distance. "Speed Limit" means you can't drive faster than the stated limit, but you can drive slower. You should always keep enough distance to the next vehicle so you can handle it. If you don't, it's all on you. Learn to drive like a grown up.

Ok; if every other driver on the road has good awareness and reactions and isn't distracted or just plain stupid there is nothing wrong with driving very slow.

You got me there. :whiste:

That's about 8.8 ounces. There's no way you could swallow that damn thing.

I noticed the exact same thing. But I figure it's probably meant to be taken dissolved in a quart of fine Caribbean rum, with a little lime, mint and soda. A chill-the-fuck-out-ojito.

It's safer drive with the flow of traffic so people don't have to constantly be braking/passing to keep from following you too close.

It can be interpreted as a "caution, distracted driver" sign.

Most likely, it's a woman asking you to be extra careful around their car because their precious baby is in on board.

Just like the arsholes who park their precious car way out in the hope that nobody parks beside them.

To that I say F YOU!

Depends on how far below the limit you're going. I can assure you, driving 10 mph on the freeway is not legal. There may not be a posted minimum, but there is a de facto minimum determined by other traffic, and you can be cited for driving too slow if your speed is sufficiently slow to pose a risk to other motorists. It's why they make trucks carrying giant loads drive with giant flashing lights that say slow moving vehicle all over them; they're an obstacle for other drivers.

What's wrong with that? It doesn't affect you one iota.

You clearly don't understand America.

Most can't even understand when a vehicle is stopped in front of them on the highway.

There wasn't a sign on this chicks car, but it's related.

I was driving to work around 4:30PMish one day, so obviously there's going to be traffic on the road. I'm on a single lane road and the speed limit is 45, and most times I'll end up doing about 5 over on this stretch, there aren't many lights so there's a smooth flow of traffic.

Well I'm minding my own business and this lady in an Expedition pulls right up on my ass swerving slightly back and forth. Now, I'm getting pissed because tail-gating is my biggest driving pet peeve, and it isn't like I can go anywhere because there's a steady stream of cars in front of me.

So of course, I start to slow down on purpose and down-shift a gear so I don't have to tap on my brakes. At this point I'm doing about 40 now so I speed back up to keep up with traffic and she gets right on my ass again. Now at this point I'm just annoyed so I wait till there's some distance and give the brakes and solid tap, then hit the gas again so she doesn't rear-end me.

I guess she didn't like this because at the next light she pulls up beside me in a left turn lane and starts yelling at me "I have a baby in the car stop driving like an asshole!!!"

I just sat there, dumbfounded at what just transpired.

Now, you're probably thinking well maybe you were driving like an asshole. My ticket-less and accident-less history says otherwise, hell I've never even been pulled over after 11 years of driving. Maybe I'm just better and blending into the crowd I don't know but this bitch pissed me off.

OK bro, what's the problem? She said she had a baby REALLY on board, did you bother to even verify being so manly like you did?

Both 1 and 2 are completely false. Have you ever driven before? Ever see someone doing 50 in the left lane with people having to swerve around them to get by? You think everyone ELSE is dangerous there? Many areas also have minimum speeds posted as well.

It can be illegal and is frequently dangerous.

Check your laws, but most states have a requirement you keep pace with traffic.

This is exactly how I interpret those "Baby On Board" stickers.

Just like the arsholes who park their precious car way out in the hope that nobody parks beside them.

I'm one of those people. People are careless and I really don't want someone slamming their car door into my vehicle. Plus I don't mind the extra walk.

Slowing down to piss her off and brake checking makes you the asshole. The mature thing to do is pull over and let them by if it really bothers you.

You probably enjoyed today even more with all the rain. I'm amazed every day by the stupidity of drivers in this area. It helps to understand why there are so many collisions. I often get stuck behind someone who is either confused or doesn't like to go the speed limit. The speed cameras make it even worse because everyone seems to think going 10MPH under the limit is the right thing to do.

You're a terrible driver if you think driving under the speed limit is not dangerous. Disrupting the flow of traffic is one of the most dangerous things to do, and it endangers a LOT of people.

The are write ups how 10mph below the limit is one of the most dangerous speeds to be at. Many people have a hard time judging closing distances and even when a vehicle is totally stopped in the road.

10 mph over the limit is usually a safer speed as people tend to be more conscious and aware of their driving.

1) No, it's not. In most states if you are driving below the speed limit and there are a certain number of cars behind you (in WA it's 5 or more), you are required by law to pull over and allow the other vehicles to pass. You can, and will, be issued a citation for "obstructing the flow of traffic" if you are driving below the speed limit with cars backing up behind you (even if they're following at a safe distance).

2) Yes, it is. Mostly on multiple lane roads though. Even if you're in the far right lane on a freeway, speed differential is a major cause of accidents. Even more of a cause than simply exceeding the speed limit. If everyone else on the highway is going the speed limit and you're going 10 mph under, you're creating a speed differential that is inherently less safe than if you were moving with the flow of traffic even if everyone is paying as much attention as possible.
