PSA: If you are sick, stay the hell at home!

This week, I was at a bookstore where a mom brought her sick kid. Apparently, her son was too sick to attend school, so she brought him to Barnes and Noble during the day to run around coughing on everyone.

I was also recently at a Starbucks where a woman was sitting across from me at the big table coughing the entire time. Apparently, she was too sick to go into work, so she decided to telecommute from a busy cafe where she could spread her illness to as many others as she could.

If you're sick, stay the hell at home! The flu is killing 4,000 Americans per week and it's being spread by such thoughtless idiots as these.

What sucks is how lot of employers require doctor notes. So it's easier to just go in to work than to try to find a doctor clinic that is open that day and then go wait for like 3 hours. The hardest part of going to work when you're sick is the actual act of getting up, and then clearing the snow from the car, driveway etc. So if you have to go to the doctor to get a note and have to do all that stuff may as well just go in to work.

Thankfully here in Ontario they did get rid of the doctor note requirement. People have been bitching about the minimum wage increase but there's actually a lot of good stuff in that new labour bill that are not getting lot of attention.

Good bosses don't bother requiring doctor notes but there are some that are by the book.
