PSA: if you are sick, can you please stay home?

This is why I hate being in public. I hibernated for the past two months and today some lady who sat directly behind me kept coughing right towards my direction. I couldn't move from the seat until the event was over. Now I have a slight headache, my throat is scratching, and I have a busy work week starting tomorrow. This sucks!! I have not been sick in about a year.

My body rarely ever produces sickness on its own, it's always transmitted by some idiot who couldn't stay home and rest it out.

Well you're likely not sick from her - it's my understanding that illnesses like that generally have some sort of incubation period, which is at least a few days.

I am not completely sick yet. I feel normal. But I can tell it's starting a bit.

uh, dude, only mutation based illnesses like cancer get produced by the body "on its own".

This. Quit whining.

Aww... poor baby.

I understand what you're saying, but not everyone has the luxury of staying home all day long when they're sick.

Immune systems are like muscles. Use it or lose it. Why are people so backwards about this and then come whining about how the door handle in a public restroom made them sick.

Just because you are sick doesn't mean that you suddenly do not need supplies or that your obligations suddenly disappear. It would be nice if we could all stay home for a week when we get a cold and still have our job when we got well...

and if you want a little bit of everything that's going around, go to a crowded movie theater or a fast food joint.

Fuck that. I figure I caught whatever the current bug is from one of youse bastards...or your kids, I'm gonna go to work, to school, to the mall and share it with as many of youse sum-bitches as I can...😛

What comes around, goes around.

Hey OP, look on the bright side: at least a spider didn't lay its eggs in your brain in the middle of the night. There are 12,000 cases reported per year dontcha know

In fact, there's a lot of evidence that keeping your immune system working hard helps reduce your risk of cancer. Anecdotal example, farmers (even those who smoke) who shovel lots of shit (and thus breathe in tons of nasty bascteria) have a lower chance of developing lung cancer.

Unfortunately, some employers will make you go into work as long as you still have a pulse.

Yep, nearly passed out preparing to go to work because my internet connection went out. Thank goodness it came back before I left the house (usually work from home). I was prepared to burn a vacation day, but the manager was like come in, just sit away from everyone else...

I had a roommate born in China who came to America in 7th grade. I have never once seen him sick in the 5 years that I've known him.

In other words, live in a dirty country for a while. It'll suck at first but your immune system will come out tough as nails.
