I've noticed this as a common problem over the past few months, but never knew that mine could be boinked as well even if I could still see it. Consider this post a test for mine.

EDIT: Shows a correct mysystemrig URL, should work for everyone. I knew I couldn't have done it wrong 😉.

Link is much better than each part listed per line. Nobody likes huge sigs. Huge sigs make us all sad pandas.

Yeah, I really like the feature so you don't see huge lists of parts. Too bad there's these issues. 🙁

I tried adding a rig, but I get an error message everytime I fill out the form. Frustrating, b/c all of the fields are blank again when I go back.

edit: this is the message I always get:

We apologize for the inconvenience, but you have encounted an error. The error has been logged and sent to the web master.

I noticed this problem a long time ago, but I was too lazy to inform the others.
Actually, the problem is very simple to fix, take this link for example (sorry zim): http://www.anandtech.com/mysystemrig.html?id=2782
All you have to do is add "rig" before id and the problem's solved. So the correct link should be: http://www.anandtech.com/mysystemrig.html?rigid=2782
The reason this is happening is because many people when they link to their rigs, they provide the link from their "Edit my System Rigs profile" list, not from the "View my home page" list, since the first page is what they see right after adding their rigs. And the first page only works for the rig's user.

Jello went over how to fix it in the OP.

I gave a much simpler way (add 3 letters).

That's what my cliff notes were for:

Cliff Notes:
If your single rig link doesn't have "mysystemrig.aspx?rigid=" in it, it's not working for other users.
If you are linking to all your rigs, if it doesn't have "myanandtech.aspx?member=" in it, it's not working.

Anyway, nice thread. Should be helpful for many people.

 I put your info in the bottom of the OP if people find that more helpful.

Yes, yes I do. I need to shave again though for the full effect.

I prefer bearded nerd guy.

Why yes, those system rig sigs do indeed serve a purpose !! I've always looked for users running hardware that I was considering buying, or for troubleshooting purposes. PCs are as unique as their users, so its no guarantee you will always have a troublefree system build. Regardless, I think I speak for most of the system rig cognoscenti in saying that having a rig sig does improve your intimate moments with the opposite sex.

Cool info, I use the condensed version that shows all my rigs, and i'm 99% sure it works.

BTW: DAjello is alcoholic 😉 Just made some Jello Jiggler shooters for the party this weeked.

It does indeed work.

Off topic, but how do you fix your sig, so it doesn't have three empty lines after it? I've added close tags to the beginning of mine, as a workaround, but it still leaves one empty line following the sig. 😕

I haven't even noticed this... maybe there's a minimum height that the sig area has to be?

I didn't do anything special at the end of mine.

Thanks! Oddly enough, I didn't even notice I had a PM from Jello until I started reading this. I used the link in the System Profile Editor just like I guess everyone else did. I knew that it brought me back to the logon area, but I thought that it was an Opera referrer issue (which happens on other sites also) since I thought I had the right link.

How's mine now? Edit: Speaking of which, I need to do some editing to my profile. This post helped me out twice!

Just look at the end of salt9876's sig for an example.
