this has been all over. the cop did not park in a disabled spot. Though he did park on the lines.

It looks like he parked on the van-access part of the space (the cross-hatching) and he parked part way into the space itself, but the moron who shot the video didn't think to get a better shot of how the cop was actually parked.

At least he tried to do something about it even though it didn't look like a handicapped spot to me but rather more like a spot to leave room for access, maybe slightly into the handicapped spot.
But i didn't see any handicapped person wanting to park there either so it's not like this was a real problem. Like riding a bike on a sidewalk where no one is on it nor ever showed up on it while the biker was on...potential for issue is there but it didn't happen so that's when you deal with your actual problems instead of playing super hero for a handicapped person that doesn't exist atm.

Eh? Did you watch the video? He partially parked in the white stripes next to the handicapped zone and partially in the handicapped zone.

Sure it wasnt a problem for a handicapped person at that moment. Now you go park like the cop did and watch as the same cop writes you a ticket. That is the point of the video.

Cops are mentally disabled. Who else would choose to take a thankless job, have to deal with the dregs of society, all the while being abused by the public on a daily basis.
Everyone knows this.

All of that plus almost never breaking a sweat, making great money, getting top tier benefits, and retiring after 20 years with a fat pension, free medical and dental.
I can't imagine why anyone would take such a job. 🙄

Because if you were handicapped and needed the room to park there, would you pound your vehicle in next to the cop car and then maybe bang it out of the way with some door slams?

Or stop, squint, and go elsewhere for parking?

Regardless, you could be ticketed for doing this kind of parking. So why is there this "Do as I say, not as I do." Bullshit when fattie wants some freedom fries on the double?

Also, +1 on ticketing for vertical video.

would you have been ticketed for doing the same? we have to hold those in a position to a higher standard. cop could have just apologized and moved on. look how quickly he became hostile. this behavior could escalate the situation and who knows what could have happened next. an angry guy with a gun; you take a guess.

No. because it wasn't a handicapped spot.
