I hope someone isn't proud of this "idea" for a movie. It's just...lazy.

I'm annoyed by the same things depicted in that trailer. I'm not special. I wouldn't make a movie about killing people that annoy me.

You gotta take it for what it is, a satire. And being a satire, it's good at what it does, and what it does is bring up a message regarding the problem that escapism has become in our society.

If you sit down and dissect the scenes, this is honestly one of the most well made movie in a while.

that a few people who cant coexist with other peoples worldviews go on savage rampages?

That's like saying Fight Club was just a movie about people punching each other in sweaty basements.

I haven't yet seen the movie OP linked to, but I'm gonna guess there is a deeper message. That society is gaining momentum on a downward spiral of stupidity, excess, self-absorption, disrespect, vanity and ignorance. That we are all charged up with rage and hatred all the time. That we are all ticking time bombs, maybe one traffic snarl or episode of My Super Sweet 16 away from going postal.

Do you ever find yourself thinking, "This country would be so much better if we could just get rid of maybe half the population and start fresh?" I know I do. It's a fucked up thought but thoughts like these cross the minds of ordinary, normal people all the time. It's fucked up that it's normal.

I'm not even American but I feel that way about where I live. I'd wager it's a common sentiment in many parts of the world.

Just watched this last night.

Really good movie, imo. The director hits on a lot of good (political) points, but the movie itself is dark, humorous, and engaging. I'll be recommending it to my friends.

Close enough to nailing it. You should definitely watch it and tell us what you think 🙂
