Ive taken it over 300 feet away, and well over 100 feet vertically, wind sucks though 🙂

I got 2 for $17 each at target on sale.... woo 🙂

oh , use two straws,j tape them in a v with a kink in each straw in the front and you can take them off from roads, etc.

Got a link to that thread? I KNEW I had read somewhere on here about the little plane, but I couldn't find the thread lol. Nice idea for the ground takeoff! 🙂

I took my Airhogs F-16 out for a maiden flight today (got it from Target for a mere $18 yesterday). Man that thing is hard to fly. Is the AA easier to fly? I'm a total noob to R/C planes and am glad I only spent <$20 to try out R/C planes. It was a lot of fun tho but most of my flights end up with kamikaze dives.

Yeah AA is cake, you'll pick it up within 5 minutes if you have any coordination at all 🙂

Do a search for Aero Ace

Do a search for Aero Ace

I did. Just did again. Zero results for current messages - not even mine shows up! A few entries show up in Archived Messages, but they're not related to the airplane. Care to give me some more searching pointers? I can't even find my own thread lol.

i stopped at target today and looked at them

but with 100F+ outside, i decided to wait until things cool off, i won't want to be outside long enough to try it

Those things look fun. I'll probably get one.

Thank for the post, OP, I read your other post about the heli and bought one. It didn't arrive yet though.

I actually have a real RC helicopter, a Raptor 30, but it's intimidating to fly in my opinion since the blades spin so fast and can cause massive damage, the thing is fast, and when it crashes, it explodes. And it cost me about $1000, so it's no fun to crash.

Here's the thread dxkj started a month ago. I did a quick search for Aero Ace in the search bar on top of ATOT.

Yeah, I can imagine :Q The Dragonfly is a really fun indoor toy. I've taken it outside 2 or 3 times but it just doesn't handle well outdoors, even on a calm day for some reason. Indoors though it's a gem. Really stable flight for being made of foam and plastic. The design is really nice because you can smash it and the round plastic tubes around the blades will simply pop out instead of breaking - you can then push them back into the connection tubes and go fly again.

I think the Dragonfly takes more practice to learn than the Aero Ace. Learning how to spin and turn with the heli gets a tad confusing if you're not used to it (my first chopper). You'll like the Aero Ace, but the Dragonfly is great when it's too hot outside, or it's raining, or you just don't want to go outside 🙂

Kaido,
If you like the dragonfly and want to move to something that will fly outside, but still be "cheap" to pick up and very durable/cheap to fix check this:
http://www.nesail.com/detail.php?productID=3497

I've been flying r/c helis for a long time and still find myself going back to my trusty ole CP. It's a shade bigger than your dragonfly, if at all, but has a collective pitch set up so it handles light winds no problem. And like the AA comes with everything you need in one box. Of course there are cheap upgrades too 😉

Awesome, thanks! Sent you a PM with q's 🙂

Looked at Walmart this morning while I was shopping for some other stuff. They wanted $40 each for them 🙁 Another $5 and I could get a big B-2 model to fly around 🙂

Ok, I opened my AA before I went to work this morning and found a faulty remote control. The left stick, the throttle, is permanently stuck to the down position. 🙁 I'm gonna have to bring it back to Target tonight for an exchange or refund. Fortunately, there's another Target on the other side of the freeway. 🙂

Permanently stuck like won't go up stuck or permanently stuck like springs down? It's supposed to spring back down if you're not pushing it up.

How much weight do you think these can hold? I wonder if we could strip down some CVS cameras to attack to it...

Pretty much none. I read about adding weight to the nose to help it fly better, but even a dime is too heavy. I think a 9V battery is heavier than the whole plane lol. The dime helped it fly really well at full throttle, but as soon as you took the throttle down it sunk like a stone. Unless you can find a really, really light camera I don't think it's going to happen.

...although, my brother has one of those on his r/c truck, so maybe I'll give it a try 😀

I figured it couldn't hold much, but I don't own one yet so I thought i'd ask. I am looking at my CVS camera now, and without the batteries it really isnt' too heavy. I wonder if the case was removed, and you wired it into the planes own power if it would work. I assume the plane would only fly for 2-5 mins then though 😱
