Awesome, I think I'll pick one up for the kids today 🙂

Yeah, they're great for kids. They have a pretty durable design. If you are planning on letting your kids use it, do NOT remove the lower wing - they won't have the reflexes to fly it very well if you do. Single wing = high performance 😉

Dammit... now I want one. I wasn't planning on spending $30 on anything of this sort. How much room does it need to fly (i.e. what sort of turning radius does it have)? We have a decent sized yard, but lots of trees.

Hmm, I'd say at least 25'x25'. They can do quick turns in about 5' or 10', but they need some room to get going and to climb. Don't fly near trees, bad things happen. Almost lost mine today :Q

Hmmm... maybe I shouldn't get one then. We have a pretty standard sized suburban lot, but it is populated by over 25 trees.

Well, as long as you don't fly it too high and can fetch it out. I have some pine trees near me and all of the branches are near the top, so it's pretty much hopeless if it gets caught in one.

All the ToysRUs around me closed shop. Got a large park just a few blocks away from my house, but my area's very windy.

Was upset when I got to Target that they only had athe jet plane and not the bi-plane version, luckily I dug through and found one in back. 🙂

The girls were really excited and we spent the evening flying it around the backyard.

It's a lot of fun and pretty durable, my 8 year old is mastering it, and my 5 year old doesn't destroy it, so we're very stisfied

 Thanks OP 😀

Awesome! And you're welcome 🙂 For $30 there's a lot of value in it. If you can find a different color (= different frequency), you can fly one while your daughter flies the other one. I'm looking forward to some dogfights as soon as Toys R Us gets some more stock in 😀

this is actually a repost

anyway, i got one of these planes after i read the previous thread about these things.
its pretty interesting although i seem to have lost interest because there's not really much you can do with them other than fly in a straight line or fly in circles. The plane charge lasts about 10 minutes or so and takes about 10 minutes to fully charge.

the slightest wind will affect the plane, so unless there's no wind, you're in a very open area, or you are inside, don't fly it.

I got one as a gift removed the bottom wings, and adjusted the tail but no matter what I do, I cannot make it stay up longer than 5 seconds!

Sounds like a personal problem. 😀

I KNEW there was a thread somewhere about this, but I could find it. Even searched the archives and didn't come up with anything, so I figured I'd start a new one. btw you can get it to fly up and down, it just takes some practice 😉

Normal planes don't cost $30 😀

Sounds like fun! I'm in NY right now (no RC planes for me here) but I might pick one up when I get home. I need something else to do outside besides taking pictures.

I just wish I weren't so damn broke 🙁
