Had some trouble accessing it in the very early morning but otherwise it's been just fine since then.

Why? This was a pre-emptive strike to prevent one of those annoying, "IS GMAIL DOWN FOR YOU?" threads. It's been a while since I have seen one and thought I would help out.

On a serious note.

Gmail is probably run on a bunch of different servers obviously so while your account works, others may not.

I only know this because I have two Gmail accounts. One evening I could access the one but not the other. I kept getting a try again in a few minutes error while the other one would log in fine.

At work, it only works if I prefix it with https:// Otherwise I can see my inbox, but after a few seconds anything I click on makes a popup that says "Unable to reach Gmail."
