Step One
Installing the ActiveX plugin
* Depending on which version of Firefox you use, right-click the relevant link and save it to your desktop:
o Firefox 1.0, 1.0.1, or 1.0.2: http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/mozactivex-ff-10.xpi
o Firefox 1.0.3: http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/mozactivex-ff-103-2.xpi
o Firefox 1.0.4: http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/mozactivex-ff-104.xpi
This is Adam Lock's ActiveX Plugin for Firefox
* Open Firefox, then drag the .xpi file you just downloaded into the Firefox window.
While installing, the plugin will appear in the Extensions window. Then it will vanish - this is because even though it installs the same way, this is not an extension.
* When the installation is complete, restart Firefox.
Step Two
Patching the Registry
* Right-click this link and save it to your desktop: http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/resources/wmp9.reg
* When it has downloaded, double-click it. A pop-up will ask if you want to add the information in it to the registry - click Yes.
This applies a registry patch that solves a problem where Firefox will try to use an older version of the WMP plugin (6.4) instead of the actual version.
