Maybe due to rate hike?

They are also supposedly creating a credit with the "highest cash back in the country" with no details. Let's wait and see what that means.

I don't have many thousands of dollars in my ING Direct account, so moving it over to an ED account really isn't going to net me much cash, even in the long run. There's no reason to switch, for me.

I have been using Emigrant for a while, and their customer service sucks... every agent I have talked to has been rude...

but otherwise I have had no problems

Not bad for a simple savings account.

Also, I learned tonight that you can transfer money directly from ING Direct to Emigrant Direct! :)

All is good! :D
