PSA: Einstein@home down...

I've been crunching Einstein@home for quite sometime now under the user Kevin for the TeAm, so I wanted to get this out there. I had been trying to upload two work units since early this week and had them fail every time. Now, if you crunch Einstein@home, please do not reset your project (and lose your results/efforts) just yet. The site confirms their server issues:

Tue Aug 11 23:26:28 UTC 2009

Einstein@Home is down as the result of yet another fileserver crash. We are
working on repairing the filesystem now but it will likely take a couple days
before the project is running again. Further news will be posted here.

Thank you for your patience.

Fri Aug 14 17:01:20 UTC 2009

The first attempt to fix the filesystem failed and the second attempt is
underway. We will have more news in about 36 hours.

They should be back up soon, but soon could be relative.

Well, this happens now and then ... I have many WUs waiting to be uploaded and validated ... and patience is needed. 😉

The filesystem repair is finally moving forward as hoped. Step one is complete
and step two should finish in about 7 hours. If everything works out we should
be able to start bringing the project back online at that time.

Thank you again for your patience.

I don't normally post stats, so please excuse the formatting if I screwed up. 😉

Thanks for the stats - they are appreciated!

The formatting is no problem - the numbers are there and in a logical order. My first stats post looked very similar ...

The I learned to use a different font when I made the sheet in Excel: Courier. Since the spacing between the letters is constant the formatting becomes much easier ...

Stats post will be - I hope - easier to format in the new forum software ---- there will be more fonts and other helpful possibilities.
