Black licorice is dangerous huh? Here I was thinking it just made cat shit look appetizing.

I don't really need another reason to avoid it, but good to know all the same.

I make a sauce with licorice powder, grated ginger, soy sauce and sugar. Dip sliced tomatoes in it. Nom nom.

Or just licorice powder, salt and sugar.

I just made an amazon order, and forgot to get licorice candy. Have to make another order now :^S

I got a shit ton of Venco skolekridt. It was a good bit cheaper than Fazer, which I like a lot. Hope it's as good or better.

I haven't eaten black licorice in a long time, and now I have a craving for it. I like the way it feels in my mouth.
 
Seeing this in the news also made me order some. I ordered some "Gustafs Dutch Licorice Double Salt Classic Salt Licorice Coins" that arrived over the weekend. So far I've eaten exactly 1. Definitely takes some getting used to, and I normally like really salty food. I probably won't buy any more.

If those are like Piratos, it's an acquired taste. The salmiak's pretty strong in them. Salty licorice isn't stereotypically salty. The ammonium chloride is a whole different experience.

I didn't throw away the bag or anything, so I'll probably eat one here and there and see if it grows on me. It definitely was different than anything I've eaten before. Maybe I should find something milder to start out with.

These are pretty good for a salty taste that isn't extremely ammonia-like...

These have a crunchy peppermint shell, and give an experience similar to Good&Plenty. Not salty at all...

These are a hard candy with powdered salt inside, but it's fairly mild. There's a couple flavors in the bag, and one of them reminds me of Ludens menthol coughdrops. They're really good...
