From the article:

Three people were killed, three others were wounded in multiple shootings yesterday, and two slashed bodies were discovered in what marked a grisly day in Philadelphia.

As of the close of yesterday, Philadelphia had officially recorded 12 homicides so far this year. That's up from 5 recorded the same time last year.

Not as bad as Mexico though...

On average, one person is killed there every 30 minutes...

The world is going straight down the toilet...

That's a slow day and no where near as Chicago.

As the economy continues to go down this will be more and more the norm.

Murder and nonnegligent manslaughter per 100,000 (2010):

Chicago: 15.2
Philly: 19.6
New Orleans: 49.1

Well, the one consolation I take for such incidents is that they occur among people who know each other and likely "deserve it"

Meaning that the victim likely made a choice, to get involved in the drug trade, and that is what resulted.

What I really really dislike, however, is random violence against strangers.

Just change the title to stay out of dangerous cities. If they were killing each other at a faster rate we may get to the point where no one would be left. Maybe harsher criminal punishments are the answer.

the answer is ready availability of birth control/abortion for such places. They are not working. They should NOT be bringing more people into this world.

That is the fact about most violent crime, it's among people who know idiots and spend time with them, this goes for lots of different kinds, from date rape to domestic abuse (obviously), to good ole fashioned murder.

As always somebody should and I will this time point out how in general violent crime is going down, not up.

well, speaking of Philly, this crime in particular shook me, because it was random and she was completely innocent:
