I just bought some Pyrex glass containers and used those instead. They're a bit nicer since my Gladware containers actually ended up stained from the tomato-y foods I had in them :p.

I purchased a set of Glasslock containers from Costco. It was $30 for 9 containers and some peace of mind.

"Since the egg and cheese contained in an omelet includes fat of their own the mixture tends to get even hotter then the boiling water."

How does it get hotter than the surrounding boiling water?

I also gave this part of the article a "wat"

Interesting, I don't think I would have tried this anyway since there are a couple of options I'd use to cook an omelet before ziplock bag...

I actually did something similar in school but I used those disposable glad tupperware containers that are microwave safe.

Put everything in (peppers/ham/onion/cheese/eggs), shake the container, and microwave. Wasn't as good as doing it on the stove but it got the job done quickly and with little mess.

Omelets aren't hard to make, I don't understand the need for this shortcut.

I'm not seeing the point here.
Why would anyone want to cook eggs in a bag?

if making an actual omelet is too difficult for you, just throw the eggs and all the ingredients in a pan and scramble them together. That's about a 5 minute job, less time than it would take to boil the water.
